
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun through the Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Police Command, CP Mohammed Bunu has handed 14 officers’ next-of-kin checks totalling N7.1m (seven million, one hundred thousand Naira) for their loss of life while on duty.
New Telegraph reports that the cheques handed over to the family of the deceased officers’ were part of the former Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Akali Baba family welfare insurance schemes of the Force.
When handing out the cheques, Bunu thanked the Ag IGP for his thoughtful action and urged the families of the slain policemen to put the money to good use.

Miss Mosunmola Apata and Mr Ayuba Bassi, two of the recipients, thanked the Acting IGP and the State Police Command for their support and gave the command assurances that the money would be used wisely in their remarks on behalf of the other beneficiaries.
