Zamfara Govt To Clampdown On Workers Receiving Multiple Salaries

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal has vowed to take serious action against employees in the state civil service who receive numerous salaries.

Governor Lawal who spoke in a statement made available to New Telegraph on Wednesday at the 2024 Workers’ Day celebration urged the state workers to avoid all sorts of corruption.

According to him, the state workforce was overworked with many salary collectors and advised them to help the current administration in its efforts to cleanse the state civil service.

“I am not impressed with workers’ take home as well as the working condition in the state, but I must, first of all, ascertain the actual and genuine figure of workers, to be able to decide what to pay as minimum wage.

“Therefore, Labour should continue to bear with us and support our policies and programmes to achieve better conditions for the workers,” he said.
