Zamfara Govt Pays N7.3bn Gratuities To Retired Civil Servants

Zamfara State Government says it has paid the sum of N7.3 billion gratuities to retired local government and state civil servants in the state The Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Sulaiman Idris, made this known in a statement issued in Gusau yesterday.

Idris said the state government instituted a committee in January to verify the unpaid gratuities of workers who retired between 2015 and 2024 as well as LG pensioners who retired between 2012 and 2019.

He said the government had, therefore, successfully paid a total of N7.3 billion as gratuities to the former state civil servants in seven batches.
