Zamfara Assembly Extends LG Administrator’s Tenure

Zamfara State House of Assembly has confirmed the extension of Zamfara local government councils’ interim administrators to run the affairs of their councils for the next six months.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary of the House, Bello Madaro Kurya, the assembly yesterday deliberated on and confirmed the extension of further six months tenure for the fourteen local government councils’ interim administrators in the state. This followed the presentation of the report by the special committee led by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Adamu Aliyu Gummi, mandated to screen the local government interim administrators before their confirmation.

“All the fourteen local government interim administrators have appeared before the committee during the screening exercise.” Recall that on April 24, Governor Dauda Lawal sent a message through the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Abubakar M. Nakwada, addressed to the Clerk to the House, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu, seeking for confirmation of local government interim administrators for tenure as required by the law.
