Asocio – political group, Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), has called for caution in handling the controversy over the Dangote refinery, arguing that vilifying the refinery would send the wrong signal to prospective investors.
CONYL declared that the Dangote refinery holds the key to the nation’s economic recovery and therefore should be supported to contribute to economic growth.
In a statement signed by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, the group said: “The interest of the nation must be above any other interest if we must survive as a nation.
The false story of monopoly and substandard products from the refinery is a plot of a few who believe their in – come will stop or reduce if the refinery is allowed to function.
“Dangote refinery should be seen as the answer to years of prayer and we must exercise caution in order not to throw away the rare opportunity to develop the nation.”
