The Executive Director, YIAGA Africa, Samson Itodo, has tasked the Chairman of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) and its newly inaugurated members to resist any attempt by political actors to interfere with the electoral process during the forthcoming local government election in the state.
Itodo stated this in Jo’s, the Plateau State capital, during engagement with members of the commission ahead of the local government election scheduled to hold in October in the 17 LGAs of the State. According to him, the people of the state expect the commission’s staff to be at the polling units as early as possible on the election day with voting materials and to also ensure that the result is the reflection of votes cast during the exercise.
