Wood Applauds Awoniyi For His Resilience

Encomium continued to pour for Super Eagles’ striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, after getting his first goal in almost a year for his English Premier League side, Nottingham Forest, in their 3-0 spanking of Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday evening.

It has been a difficult time for the former Liverpool forward as he scored his last goal as far back as February 2024. Awoniyi came off the bench on Monday to seal the win for Forest with the third goal just six minutes on the pitch to end his long goal drought.

Chris Wood, who has been getting the goals for the surprise team of the ongoing season applauded his team mate for not giving up despite not getting the needed goals to back up his performance.

Awoniyi replaced Wood in the game with Wood also scoring one of the goals in the game as they continued their quest to secure an European slot at the end of the season.
