The Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike on Tuesday endorsed the initiatives of the Japan International Corporation Agency ( JICA) to review Abuja Master Plan.
Wike who received the Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Matsunaga Kazuyoshi and team members of JICA in Abuja, said the administration was open to any partnership that enhances development.
While the Minister commended the Japanese agency for other initiatives and projects it had carried out within Abuja communities, he disclosed that he has directed relevant departments of FCTA to work with the JICA team.
He particularly noted the JICA’s projects in the education sector, which he acknowledged has great positive impact on the populace.
According to Wike, the administration , with the help of President Bola Tinubu will provide enabling environment for development partners who are interested in Nigeria’s progress.
Earlier in his remarks, Ambassador Kazuyoshi said his country had sponsored a project that is helping Nigeria in its drive to end open defecation.
He informed the Minister that the Japan International Corporation Agency has assembled technical experts to ensure that the new projects in the area of nutrition and infrastructure improvement were actualized.
He added that the Japanese government was interested in helping Nigeria develop a reliable template for agriculture and livestock improvement for better nutrition.
