Why I’m Promoting Campaign Against Domestic Violence –Charles Inojie

Ace actor, Charles Inojie, has revealed the inspiration behind the ‘Make We Halla’ campaign against domestic violence in Nigeria.

In March, Inojie teamed up with Ali Nuhu, another actor, to educate the public on the negative impact of silence in matters related to domestic violence in the country. They also shared a video urging Nigerians to speak up when they witness domestic violence within their communities.

They further asked Nigerians to participate in the #MakeWeHalla challenge to support the movement. In an interview, Inojie said he was inspired to begin the campaign to raise awareness of the need for people to speak up because “when we all keep quiet, the perpetrator of this act of abuse seems confident to do more”. “When we all keep quiet, the abuser, perpetrator of this act of abuse seems confident to do more. But when we speak up and against the abuse without being violent, it sends a signal to the perpetrator that he should desist,” he said.
