Why I Invited Pasuma, Portable As Guest Artists – Celestial Pastor

The General Overseer of a Celestial Church of Christ in Lagos State, Aderemi Dabiri, has given reasons why he invited famous fuji singer, Pasuma, and Afrobeats singer, Portable, for praise night.

New Telegraph recalls that the church had recently faced a series of backlash on social media after unveiling Pasuma and Portable as guest artists for its upcoming programme.

Reacting to the backlash, Dabiri in a viral video explained that his decision to invite secular artists was to gain new converts.

He said, “It is not our first time inviting guest artists. We have been doing it without a problem and I can give you a series of instances.

“We can’t go where they sell palm wine or alcoholic drinks and ask them to accept Jesus Christ. If I don’t apply wisdom, they will hit the bottle on my head. That was why I thought of a way to bring them into the church.”

Speaking further, the cleric criticized some gospel singers for their disrespectful behaviour, saying, “Some of the gospel singers are rude.

“Some of them respond to you rudely, but the day I called Pasuma, he sounded respectful on the phone and also agreed with my stance.”

He, however, appeals to the Celestial Church worldwide for support and assures them of his commitment to using his style of evangelism to bring pride to the church.
