We’re Now Focussed On Governance In Rivers –Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, yesterday said that his administration is now focused on governance and not politics.

He added that his administration will meet the expectations of Rivers people despite the recent political distractions. Fubara spoke shortly after swearing-in five new commissioners and two special advisers into his cabinet at the executive council chambers of the Government House, Port Harcourt, yesterday.

He insisted that governance is about the provision of quality development of both infrastructure and appropriate social amenities that will contribute to making living pleasurable and better for the people.

Fubara assured the people that his administration will remain focused with a greater determination to deliver on its responsibility to justify the support received from the over 8 million Rivers people in the state.

He said: “We are into governance now, not politics. When we get to the time of politics, we will talk politics. But today, what we are doing here is welcoming you on board, charging you to be good ambassadors, not just to this administration, but to your people.”

“It is a call to duty. Work in a manner that everybody will be happy. Governance is about making the people happy, and that is our aim.”
