We’ll Continue To Collaborate With NIS For A Greater Lagos – Sanwo-Olu

The administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has declared that it considered the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors (NIS) as important partners in the actualisation of its THEMES Plus developmental Agenda towards making Lagos State a 21st Century Economy.

It is on the backdrop of this that the Governor said the state will continue to collaborate with the professional body to ensure a sustainable physical and urban development befitting the status of the state.

He made this known at the 2024 Fellows Investiture ceremony of Nigeria’s professional body of surveyors held at 10 Degrees Events Center, Oregun Ikeja, themed: “Dynamics of Leadership and Dilemma of Fellowship”.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Abimbola Salu Hundeyin, Sanwo-Olu congratulated the newly-inducted Fellows, stressing that his government would not relent in collaborating with Surveyors in ensuring a vibrant, healthy, prosperous, sustainable, more resilient and livable environment for all residents.

Guest Speaker and Member House of Representatives, Ajeromi/Ifelodun Federal Constituency, Lagos, Hon. Kalejaiye Paul, called for patience, perseverance and tolerance on the path of citizens as President Bola Tinubu’s government fixes the current situation in the country.

NIS President, Mathew Ibitoye, said the elevation of members to the rank of a Fellow was a call to greater responsibilities as a custodian of professional standards and collective values.

He urged the newly inducted fellows to be exemplary leaders worthy of emulation as they make significant contributions with innovative skills.

Ibitoye said there was need for continuous growth and improvement on how they administered things.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman, Board of Fellows, Olusola Atilola, said the event was to honour members who had made great contributions and achieved standard excellence in their profession, urging them to be loyal and good ambassadors.

He also urged governments at all levels to use geo spatial solutions for economic growth.
