W’Cup Qualifiers: Zambia Unveil New Coach For Eagles

Zimbabwe Football Association has officially unveiled new head coach for the Warriors, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Warriors have been without a substantive coach since FIFA lifted the suspension on the country’s football. They played two rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with an interim manager in charge of the team.

The ZIFA on Thursday afternoon unveiled Germany’s Michael Nees as the new coach of the team. He was given a mandate to qualify the team for at least the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Zimbabwe is placed in the same group alongside Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Cheetah of Benin, Bafana Bafana of South Africa, and Amavubi of Rwanda in the 2026 World Cup qualifying group.
