W/Cup Qualifiers: Eagles’ll Struggle Against Bafana Without Osimhen –Siasia

Former Nigerian International, Samson Siasia, has said the Super Eagles will face difficulty against South Africa with Victor Osimhen out of action in next Friday’s 2026 World Cup qualifier slated to hold at the Goodwill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Friday.

Siasia believes it will be difficult for the Eagles without a key player (Osimhen) who has been sidelined for four weeks due to injury.

“The South Africans will be coming with the same coach and players that played Nigeria at AFCON finals but the Eagles will be playing under a new gaffer and that is why I said it will not be easy,” Siasia said.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface is widely tipped to step in to replace the 2023 CAF Player of The Year, while the addition of Samuel Chukwueze and Ade – mola Lookman is a boost for Finidi George.

The Super Eagles will also be without key players like Kenneth Omeruo and William TroostEkong during the qualifiers, and Siasia revealed it might lead the team to some sort of imbalance.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will lock horns against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Gods-will Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, with kick-off time slated for 8 pm.

They will travel to Ivory Coast three days later to play against Gernot Rohr’s Benin Republic.

Nigeria has earned two points from their first two World Cup qualifying fixtures and needs all the points they can get when they play against South Africa and Benin Republic in the coming days.
