UTM FLNG Granted License To Build Nigeria’s First Floating LNG Plant

In a historic move, the Federal Government of Nigeria has granted UTM FLNG Limited a “License to Construct” Nigeria’s first-ever Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility.

Sunday Telegraph reports that the development followed the issuance of the license by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) last Friday, fulfilling President Tinubu’s pledge to support the project.

With a capacity of 2.8 million tons per annum (MTPA), the FLNG facility, located offshore Akwa Ibom State, will produce Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), and condensate from re-injected gas at the OML 104 Yoho Field.
