The sentencing of the former United States (US) President, Donald Trump in his Manhattan hush money criminal trial has been postponed until November 26, 2024, following the forthcoming presidential election slated for November 5.
Justice Juan Merchanwho made this announcement on Thursday, September 6, cited the sensitive timing of the case which is scheduled to hold on September 18 as a reason for the delay.
New Telegraph recalls that Trump was convicted in May on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

The delay allows for full attention on the jury’s verdict, according to the judge, who emphasized the importance of separating the legal proceedings from the election.
Trump’s legal team had employed various strategies to delay sentencing, with further arguments set for November 12.
