US Election: California Authorities Foil Potential Assassination At Trump Rally

A 49-year-old Las Vegas resident, Vem Miller, was arrested at a security checkpoint in Coachella Valley, California after deputies discovered illegal firearms in his vehicle.

Miller was stopped around 5 pm near Avenue 52 and Celebration Drive, shortly before former President Donald Trump was set to speak at a nearby rally.

New Telegraph gathered that the deputies noticed suspicious activity when Miller approached the security perimeter, prompting a deeper investigation.

His vehicle, a black SUV, had a disorganized interior and an obviously fake license plate, raising several red flags.

Upon inspection, authorities found a shotgun, loaded handgun, and high-capacity magazine inside the vehicle, all violating California law.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco stated that his deputies may have prevented “the third assassination attempt” with Miller’s arrest.

The incident highlights heightened security concerns at political events amidst increased political tension in the US.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s office continues to investigate Miller’s intentions and potential connections to the rally.

Miller remains in custody as authorities assess whether others were involved or if there’s a broader threat to public safety.

The rally proceeded without disruption following the arrest, thanks to the vigilance of Sheriff Bianco’s deputies.
