Recently, the Senator Representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the development and empowerment of Nigeria youths by convening the UbahNation Media Centre Seminar/Retreat 2024.

This year’s event, centred on the theme: ‘Empowering Young Creatives: Grooming the Next Generation of Media Professionals’, is a practical demonstration of his continuous dedication to nurturing the youths and future leaders of the media sector in Nigeria.

Engaging with media professionals

The seminar/retreat provided a unique platform for young creatives to engage with seasoned professionals, gain invaluable insights, and acquire the skills necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving media landscape.

Through a series of workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, participants were equipped with practical knowledge and innovative strategies that will undoubtedly enhance their career prospects.

The three days seminar and retreat was held at Golden Tulip Hotel Asaba, in Delta State, with The Ubahnation Media Centre, the foremost media arm of his team.

Youths tasked

Dr. Ubah, in his opening remarks retreat, urged the youths to adopt useful and functional skills that will give them a head start and eventually make them better in the society.

He tasked them to be true ambassadors of Ubahnation while commending their efforts so far in driving the narrative to change what he described as the bad leadership in Anambra State and beyond. His vision for this initiative is both clear and commendable.

By focusing on empowerment and education, he is ensuring that the next generation of media professionals is well-prepared to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities of the digital age. His emphasis on creativity, professionalism, and ethical journalism resonated throughout the event, inspiring attendees to strive for excellence in their respective fields.

Moreover, the UbahNation Media Centre Seminar/Retreat 2024 highlighted the importance of mentorship and networking. Young creatives had the opportunity to connect with industry veterans, fostering relationships that could lead to future collaborations and career advancements.

This emphasis on community-building and mutual support is a cornerstone of Senator Ubah’s approach to leadership and development.

This is as he has over the years shown his commitment to building and empowering communities within and beyond his senatorial district and Anambra. In acknowledging Ubah’s remarkable contributions, it is essential to recognise the broader impact of his efforts.

By investing in the youth, he is not only shaping the future of the media in Nigeria but also contributing to the overall socio-economic development of the nation.

His work serves as an inspiration to others in positions of influence, encouraging them to prioritise the empowerment and education of young people. Ubah has emerged as a strong alternative, actively engaging with Ndi Anambra through pragmatic and community-centred initiatives.

The Senator’s popularity has surged due to his hands-on approach to addressing pressing issues, including significant improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education.

He has facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of key roads, sponsored medical outreach programmes, established healthcare centres, provided scholarships, and supported school infrastructure projects.

Meanwhile, speaking at the event, the South East National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dozie Ikedife Jnr., commended Ubah’s responsive and decisive leadership.

His promise of a revitalised Anambra, characterised by inclusive development and strong governance. Ikedife stressed that Ubah’s focus on community engagement and practical solutions positions him as a beacon of hope for a better future for all Anambra residents.

According to him, the Senator’s multi-faceted approach not only addresses the immediate needs of his constituency but also contributes to national economic policies, restoring public trust and offering a vision of robust governance and inclusive progress. Ubah’s leadership style, he said, symbolises a new era for Anambra; one that prioritises the well-being and development of all its citizens.
