Two Dead, 13 Injured As Bus Rammed Into Truck Along Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Expressway

Driver Dies As Truck Bus Clash In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Two persons on Saturday died while 13 others were injured in an accident involving a commercial bus and a truck along the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway.

The accident which occurred after the J3 junction of the highway involved 15 persons, comprising 10 male and five female adults.

The Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun sector command, Florence Okpe confirmed the accident to journalists in Abeokuta on Saturday.

According to her, the Toyota Hiace bus belonging to Iyare Motors rammed into the truck parked by the roadside from behind.

“Two vehicles were involved with registration numbers GUE 59 ZY Toyota Haice bus belonging to Iyare motors and a Truck, marked BGT 94 LG

“The suspected cause of the crash was speed as the bus driver rammed into a stationary truck that parked on a hard shoulder of the road from the rear.

“The injured victims were taken to Hope Hospital in J4 and the corpses were deposited at the General Hospital morgue, Ijebu-Ode”, Okpe said.
