Troops of Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai on Friday neutralized the commander of the Boko Haram terrorist group, Abubakar Shekau and four other fighters in Yobe State.
Saturday Telegraph gathered that Shekau and the others were killed during a fierce gun battle in the Sabon Fagi community, Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The troops, in collaboration with local vigilantes, successfully repelled the attempted attack by Boko Haram terrorists.

Intelligence sources told a security analyst and Counter-insurgency in Lake Chad, Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred at 11:00 p.m.
The troops recovered several weapons from the insurgents after engaging them with superior firepower, forcing others to flee and securing a decisive victory for the security forces.
Shekau, a staunch loyalist and admirer of the late Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, was considered a significant figure within the terror group.
