A woman and her granddaughter have been crushed to death in a ghastly road accident on Friday in Ogun State.
The tragic accident which occurred in the Papalanto area of Ogun State saw a woman and her granddaughter crushed by an Iveco truck with registration number KJA166 XJ.
The truck, in an attempt to overtake a tricycle (TRE 627 VP) carrying the victims, dragged the tricycle along before running over it, killing both passengers instantly.

The spokesman for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident, attributing the accident to dangerous driving by the truck driver, who fled the scene before being apprehended.
“Four people, including two males and two females, were involved in the accident, with the two females crushed to death,” Akinbiyi said.
The deceased were handed over to their relatives, while the injured tricycle driver was taken to a hospital by a good samaritan.
This incident occurred just a day after another truck-related accident in the Lafenwa area of Ogun State, which claimed four lives.
