Tottenham are eager to reinforce their team, to make sure that the memories of last season don’t last long, and they have identified the players that will help chase the shadow of the previous season away.

Tottenham have reportedly launched a joint £50 million bid to sign Leicester duo James Maddison and Harvey Barnes.

The Foxes attackers are expected to lead a mass exodus at the King Power Stadium this summer and now Spurs are trying to land the English duo for a cut-price following Leicester’s devastating relegation from the Premier League.

Tottenham’s interest in England playmaker Maddison is long-standing but the 26-year-old is now approaching the final 12 months of his current Leicester deal which could help Spurs’ cause.

Newcastle are also interested and there is cautious optimism they can lure Maddison to St James Park after securing Champions League qualification.

However, the Mail are now reporting that Tottenham are the first club to make their move for the attacking midfielder and he is not the only Leicester player of interest.

It’s claimed a joint bid worth £50m all in has been sent to the Foxes, who are likely to reject the offer out of hand.

Maddison alone has previously been valued at £50m while Barnes is thought to be worth upwards of £30m after hitting 13 goals in the Premier League last season.
