Solomon Dalung, former Minister of Youths and Sports has raised concerns over the influence of powerbrokers around President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dalung who spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today, on Wednesday, described them as more dangerous than the cabals surrounding former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He asserted that while Buhari’s cabals were less experienced and unrefined in power dynamics, Tinubu’s circle consisted of ambitious, educated, and politically astute individuals capable of manipulating power and building barriers around the presidency.

Dalung emphasized that the Tinubu administration could face significant challenges due to the sophistication of these cabals, who he claimed possess the ability to stifle information and restrict access to the president.
His remarks come despite Tinubu’s earlier assurances in July 2024 that he was not influenced by any cabals or moneybags.
The former minister’s comments shed light on the growing scrutiny of Tinubu’s leadership style since his inauguration on May 29, 2023, following a narrow election victory in February 2023.
Dalung warned that the presidency might suffer greater setbacks under Tinubu due to the cabals’ strategic manoeuvring, likening them to masters of power manipulation.
