Nigeria’s current and former leaders, President Bola Tinubu, Olusegun Obasanjo, and Goodluck Jonathan will on Friday, November 1, 2024, attend the burial ceremony of Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the late president-general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
According to Charles Amadi, Chairman of the local organizing committee, a series of activities leading up to the burial have been scheduled for the week preceding the event which will take place in Iwuanyanwu’s native home, Imo state.
Amadi confirmed that Obasanjo and Jonathan are expected to attend.
He also expressed optimism that President Tinubu will be present at the final burial of the late Ohanaeze President-General.

Amadi stated, “We are 70 percent sure that Mr. President will be in Imo for the burial.”
The last meeting between Tinubu and Obasanjo occurred in January 2024, during the inauguration of Governor Hope Uzodimma for his second term in Imo State.
The high-profile attendance reflects the significance of Iwuanyanwu’s legacy, both as a statesman and a prominent figure within Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
