This follows the agreements reached between the two countries during Tinubu’s official visit to China in early September 2024.

In his new role, he is expected to spearhead day-to-day operations, engage continuously with Chinese counterparts, and ensure the execution of priority projects in line with national development goals.
During his visit to China, President Tinubu secured commitments from President Xi Jinping to support Nigeria’s infrastructure development, economic diversification, technology transfer, and job creation.
The countries agreed to collaborate on expanding Nigeria’s rail network, upgrading power distribution, and advancing education, agriculture, and healthcare initiatives.
Tegbe, a former senior partner at KPMG with over 35 years of experience in business strategy, will lead efforts to implement these agreements, focusing on key areas such as infrastructure, vocational training, and industrial parks.
He will also develop a strategic action plan, detailing the specific deliverables and timelines.
This appointment comes as China pledges $51 billion in financing to African nations, including Nigeria, over the next three years.
