President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep concern over the recent flooding in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, which has displaced thousands of residents and damaged key facilities, including the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital and the Post Office.
The incident described as the worst flood in decades, was triggered by the overflow of the Alau Dam, causing widespread devastation in the city.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the affected families and assured them of federal support.

He urged the immediate evacuation of residents from affected areas to prevent further loss of life or property.
The President further directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide prompt assistance to the flood victims.
He also reassured Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the people of Borno State that the federal government is committed to collaborating with the state authorities to address the immediate humanitarian needs of those affected by the disaster.
President Tinubu affirmed his administration’s readiness to mobilize federal resources to mitigate the impact of the flood and help in the recovery process.
