President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Tuesday led the 64th Independence Day celebrations at the State House in Abuja.
The event featured a grand parade, with the President inspecting the ceremonial guard of honour.
After the inspection, President Tinubu, along with Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Chief Justice of Nigeria ((CJN), Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, participated in a symbolic cake-cutting ceremony to mark the historic occasion.

Following the cake-cutting, Tinubu released white pigeons, symbolising peace and hope for the nation’s future, as the crowd cheered.
The event showcased unity among Nigeria’s top leadership, with key figures in attendance, reinforcing the theme of national progress and harmony.
