Timothy Weah Officially Join Juventus

Lille full-back and United States international, Timothy Weah (23) has officially joined Juventus, New Telegraph reports.

According to both clubs who made the announcement on Saturday, the 23-year-old son of 1995 Ballon d’Or and Liberia President, George Weah has signed a five-year deal with Juventus, who paid €12 million to acquire his services.

Weah won the 2021 Ligue 1 title with Lille and spent the better part of the 2022-2023 Ligue 1 season playing full-back rather than his previously favoured right-wing position.

Weah, who had reportedly been the subject of interest from French clubs as well, has registered eight goals and as many assist in 107 games played in all competitions with Lille over four seasons.

He joined Lille from PSG in 2019, and it is mostly expected that the 23-year-old will replace Colombian international Juan Cuadrado, who departed the club this week upon the expiry of his contract.

Should Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri stick to his preferred 3-5-2 formation, Weah would slot right into the right-sided wing-back role.
