
Taylor Swift’s Tour shows in Vienna, Austria, have been cancelled after government officials confirmed an alleged ISIS-linked terrorist plot to attack large events.
This was disclosed by the organisers of the anticipated concerts on Wednesday.
The statement partly reads, “With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” Barracuda Music, the concerts’.
Recall that Swift was scheduled to play three shows at the European city, Ernst Happel Stadium from Thursday to Saturday, all of which have now been canceled.
Speaking at a press conference in the capital, police revealed that a 19-year-old Austrian citizen, identified as a sympathizer of ISIS, was arrested Wednesday morning in Ternitz, Lower Austria, with another arrest following later in Vienna.

Also, the show cancellation was also confirmed on Swift’s official website.

They had become “radicalized by the internet,” with the 19-year-old pledging his allegiance to the leader of ISIS in July, police said.
Police also said that chemical substances were secured at the home of the 19-year-old and were being evaluated, the Associated Press reported.
“From the current standpoint of the investigation, we assume that the target of the attack was events in the Vienna region,” police said.
They also mentioned making “further detentions” but did not provide additional details.
Barracuda Music assured fans that all tickets for the canceled shows will be automatically refunded within the next 10 business days.
Just a day before the cancellation, Swift posted on Instagram after performing in Warsaw, Poland, “I can’t believe we have 2 cities left on the European leg of The Eras Tour. It’s truly flown by. See you soon Vienna!”
The canceled Swift’s concert was expected to draw over 150,000 people.
