The management of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has rusticated 25 students and indefinitely suspended 58 others for various offenses, including forgery, threats to life, examination malpractice, and other fraudulent activities.
New Telegraph reports that the disciplinary measures were based on the recommendations of the Examination Malpractice and Students’ Disciplinary Committee and were approved by the university’s Senate during its statutory meeting on July 31, 2024.
The development was contained in a press statement issued by the university’s Registrar, Mr Dapo Oke, on Tuesday.
The affected students have been instructed to stay away from the university premises, with a warning that failure to comply will result in legal action and intervention by the institution’s security personnel.

The statement detailed the sanctions, noting, “The Senate, at its statutory meeting on July 31, 2024, approved the rustication of Ojo Michael, a 200-level Computer Science student, for the 2023/2024 academic session due to forgery of CGPA to contest in the Student Union Elections.”
Additionally, 17 students were rusticated for examination malpractice, five for issuing threats to life, and one for fraudulent acts. Furthermore, 47 students were indefinitely suspended for various forms of misconduct, while another 10 were suspended for impersonation.
The affected students have been warned to avoid the campus area to prevent any confrontations with university security.
