The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a suspected kidnapper, Ebube Osakwe, two armed robbery suspects and one Illegal Drug Dealer at different points in the state.
New Telegraph gathered that Osakwe and his accomplices kidnapped victims in Egu-Agbor before transporting them to Akoko Edo, Edo State.
The kidnappers allegedly demanded a N2.5m ransom from the victims’ families before Osakwe ran out of luck.
Correspondingly, Ozuluonye Okonkwo and Anukwu Joseph were responsible for robbing three houses in the Koka area of Asaba, Delta State.
Okonkwo, 21, was detained first, followed by his gang leader, Joseph, a gun supplier.
During a stop-and-search operation along the Kwale/Ogwashi-Uku Expressway, the officers also apprehended a suspected 65-year-old illegal drug dealer named David Ikama.

It was also gathered that the suspect’s vehicle was loaded with drugs such as 1,266, codeine syrup, 604 tramadol tablets, 54 Swinol tablets, and 90 Rohypnol sachets, which were recovered during the search.
“On May 20, 2024, at about 02:00hrs, the Area Command Asaba received complaints that some suspected armed robbers, who robbed three houses the night before, were sighted around Koka in Asaba.
“The area command swiftly deployed operatives who went all out for the suspects and arrested one Ozuluonye Okonkwo, 21.
SP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), claimed that during interrogation, the suspect admitted that he and his crew were responsible for the robbery operation in Koka and its environs.
“His confession led to the arrest of one Anukwu Joseph, while the gang leader, who is also the gun supplier, is at large.
He said the suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
