Sports: Alia Expresses Satisfaction With Speed Of Work At Aper Aku Stadium

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has expressed satisfaction with the speed of the renovation at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, the State capital.

The governor who made an unscheduled visit at the stadium at the weekend to personally ascertain the level of work done so far, urged the contractor to ensure he completed the work in time to enable Lobi Stars FC play their home matches in Makurdi, during the upcoming 2024/2025 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Season.

He described the stadium as one of a few cherished government assets, adding that when completed, the facilities at the stadium will meet up with FIFA standards, placing it at par with modern stadiums in the world.

The governor also reiterated the desire of his administration to revamp all moribund industries in the state, thus boosting the economy and bringing about more development.

Speaking on behalf of Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction Limited, the contractor handling the renovation work at the 10,000 capacity Stadium, Mr Ebi Ezekiel Ebe, assured that work at the stadium will be completed within the stipulated time, meeting all the given specifications.
