
Following a gun duel between the military and terrorist groups, Army troops on Sunday disclosed they ambushed and attacked two terrorists in Rafin Sariki village in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna state.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, Army Public Relations Director Onyema Nwachukwu said that the operation was a reaction to actionable intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists transiting with a bag holding weapons.
The troops attacked the terrorists in a gun battle, killing two of them. During the raid, the troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, 52 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and a locally made revolver frame.

The statement reads: “Nigerian Army troops deployed for Counter-terrorism Counter-insurgency operations in the North West on Saturday, April 13, 2024, successfully ambushed and neutralised two terrorists transiting with arms in Kaduna.
“The troops laid in ambush for the terrorists and engaged them in a gun battle that neutralised two of the terrorists.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the citizenry and the nation in general.
“The NA will thus continue to take decisive actions against terrorist activities in the region.”
