Soldiers of the Nigerian Army have killed four bandits and rescued 20 kidnapped victims in separate operations across Birnin Gwari and Giwa Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
This was disclosed by Samuel Aruwan, the Overseeing Commissioner for the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs in a statement yesterday.
The commissioner said troops of Operation Forest Sanity conducted clearance operations in the Alawa area of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, where they encountered and neutralized two bandits near Kwaga village after a brief pursuit.
The soldiers also recovered, “Two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, three motorcycles, and a Baofeng radio from the terrorists.
In another separate operation, Aruwan said the troops of Sector 6, Operation Whirl Punch, carrying out fighting patrols around Nakwakina village in Giwa LGA acted on credible intelligence, and laid an ambush and neutralized two bandits, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
