As part of measures to improve the health sector in the state, the Sokoto State government has earmarked N10 billion to renovate, refurbish and equip 244 Primary Health Centres across the state. A budget analyst in the Ministry of Budget and Economic Development, Bashir Ahmad Abubakar, stated this during the Sokoto CSO Coordinating Quarterly meeting in the state, organised by USAID State2State.
According to him, the state government is working towards refurbishing all the ambulances across all the primary health centres in the state for easy health care delivery. Bashir explained: “The state government is also acquiring Toyota Hilux vehicles that would be used in monitoring and supervising activities in the primary health centres.”
