…Sultan seeks protection of farmers
Sokoto State Government has reemphasized it’s commitment to sacrifice anything for the security and development of the state.
The State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir stated this during a Sallah homage to his Eminence, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar at his palace on Sunday.
He said concerted efforts are being made to ensure that farmers can access their farmlands for cultivation.
The Deputy governor who lamented on the economic hardships being encountered in the country,bl said the problem is globally.
Alhaji Gobir said this was due to the governor’s commitments for the progress of the state in all facets of human developments.
The Deputy governor recalled that on many occasions,Governor Ahmed Aliyu has been directing him to implement whatever will bring progress to the state.
He however expressed optimism that with sustained efforts and prayers,significant change would be recorded.
He appealed to the Sultan to continue with his usual call on scholars to pray for the peace,unity and security in the state and the country at large.
Responding, the Sultan, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar assured of the Sultanate council’s readiness to support the state government’s efforts at improving the lots of the people.
Alhaji Abubakar said the current administration has spent one year in office and people have seen the laudable development projects executed so far and called for more.
He also acknowledged the state government assistance to the state Pilgrims currently in the Holy land
The Sultan used the opportunity to call on Security agents to ensure protection of farmers while in their farm lands.
He also called on leaders at all levels to assist in reducing the hardships being faced by people.
Alhaji Abubakar stressed the need for attitudinal change and prayer for the progress of the country and
appealed to people to put the fear of Allah in all their dealings.
