No fewer than six people have been confirmed dead and eight others got various degrees of injuries in an attack on Ambe town, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State by gunmen.
According to a statement published by Daniel Amos, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, the incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when the intruders stormed the community in large numbers and shot sporadically.
He lamented, “I am saddened by the news of the late-night attack on the peaceful Ambe community in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Reports reaching me said the brutal attack by suspected bandits claimed the lives of six innocent people while eight others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.
“I strongly condemn this heinous act, which is another attempt to destabilize the peace and security in my constituency and our dear state. It is unacceptable that our people cannot live in peace without fear of being attacked by these criminal elements.”
The congressman urged the residents of the Sanga local government area to be quiet and peaceful, assuring them that work is underway to find a long-term solution to the area’s instability.
“We must continue to promote peaceful coexistence among our diverse communities, irrespective of our differences,” he emphasized.
