Sightsavers, Stakeholders Initiate Digital Platform To Track, Control Tropical Diseases

As part of the measures to track and control Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) like trachoma, Sightsavers Nigeria and other stakeholders said they have developed a digital platform that will help in that effect. This disclosure was made in Abuja yesterday during the Stakeholders Meeting and launch of the NTD-WASH Dashboard.

Country Director of Sightsavers Nigeria, Dr. Sunday Isiyaku, said it was a collaborative effort with the Federal Ministry of Health, Federal Ministry of Water Resources and other organisations, targeted at eliminating the disease in the country.

Isiyaku, who was represented at the event by Anita Gwom, Senior program manager NTDs, Sightsavers, said the digital platform will help stakeholders to quickly identify the areas of needs and also harness efforts for better result. “Efforts to strengthen WASH and NTD cross-sector coordination have been underway since 2018.”
