As his five-year ban is about to end, former Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, has become a highly sought-after candidate by multiple clubs in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the second tier, Nigeria National League (NNL).
FIFA had initially banned Siasia for life in August 2019 due to alleged match-fixing, but after appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), his ban was reduced to five years.
Now, as his suspension is coming to an end, it’s reported that Siasia is in talks with several clubs. Reports suggested that various clubs are interested, but second-division side Mighty Jets of Jos has made a concrete move to hire the former Super Eagles boss.
Reportedly, Siasia is asking for a monthly salary of N10 million. Siasia has an impressive track record, having previously managed the senior national team, the Super Eagles, and the U23 team, Dream Team, for two separate s t i n t s, leading the country to a silver medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympics.
In addition, he has prior experience in the Nigeria Professional Football League as the manager of Heartland FC for six months between July and November 2010.
