Vice President Kashim Shettima has extended his condolences to the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, following the tragic loss of his 25-year-old daughter, Fatima Kyari.
Shettima who attended the funeral prayers on Friday, which took place at the Annur Mosque in Abuja prayed God grant the Kyari’s family the strength to endure the heartbreaking loss of their beloved daughter.
In a message delivered by the Vice President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima prayed for the peaceful repose of Fatima’s soul.

Mele Kyari, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, has led the NNPCL since 2019.
He has earned numerous accolades for his contributions, including the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
Also, he was awarded the Outstanding Employer of the Year 2022 Award.
The funeral was attended by several high-profile dignitaries, with the Vice President leading mourners in paying respects to the Kyari family during this difficult time.
