The coalition of APC Youth Movements in Kano State, on Tuesday, called on organizers of the August 1st planned nationwide protest to shelve the protest and embrace dialogue.
The Chairman of the coalition, Adamu Unguwargini who made the call while addressing newsmen in Kano, said protests don’t yield desired outcomes but rather exacerbate challenges.
Unguwargini however, cautioned the youth against participating in the protest. “While we acknowledge the legitimate concerns and grievances of the youth, we strongly advise against participating in this protest.
“History has shown that protests, even when well-intentioned, have often not resulted in the desired outcomes, We have seen instances where protests led to further instability and suffering, as witnessed in countries like Sudan, Libya, and recently, Kenya.
“In these nations, protests did not resolve the issues but exacerbated the challenges the populace faced. Instead of taking to the streets, we urge the youth to engage in constructive dialogue with the government.
“Open communication and collaboration are more effective in pressing home our demands and ensuring that the voices of the youth are heard. We believe that a peaceful approach will yield better results and prevent the potential for unrest and violence.
“Furthermore, we call on governments at all levels to take decisive and immediate actions to alleviate the suffering of the masses. The government must address the economic and social challenges facing the country, providing tangible solutions to improve the quality of life for all Nigerians.
“Let us all work together towards a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria,” the Coalition’s Chairman, Unguwargini however stated.
