At least seven persons were injured in an accident involving a Volvo truck carrying cows and two other vehicles on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident that took place in the early hours of Saturday, May 18 also involved a blue luxury bus and a white Mazda in multiple crashes at the Ibafo interchange on the freeway.
Speaking on the development, the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Mrs Florence Okpe said the collision occurred at 5:35 a.m., involving 14 persons and 16 animals.
According to her, the vehicle was carrying both animals and humans, adding that the driver’s sleepiness is considered to be the reason for the incident, which resulted in the deaths of some cows.

Okpe further claimed that those injured in the crash were brought to Divine Touch Hospital in Ibafo for medical assistance.
The Sector Commander, Mr Anthony Uga, has warned motorists about the risks of transporting humans and animals together.
She quoted Uga as recommending motorists to always stop and relax for some minutes after four hours of driving, to avoid weariness and be safe.
