Senator Dadu’ut fumes as gunmen kill 7 in Wase LGA of Plateau

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have attacked Pinau town in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing about 10 people while scores of others sustained various degrees of injury.

Chairman Wase Jukun Youths Development Association (WAJYODA) Mr Ibrahim Umar Bako, who confirmed the attacked on Monday in a press statement he issued to journalists, said that the incident happened on Sunday evening after the villagers had finished their weekly community market.

He added that the gunmen stormed the village and started shooting sporadically.

“This created so much tension in the community and the entire Wase Local Government Council.”

Meanwhile the Senator representing Plateau South Professor Nora Ladi Dadu’ut has condemned, in strong terms, the attack on Pinau Village in Mavo Chiefdom of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State.

She further called on security operatives to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book.

Dadu’ut said, the attackers should be made to pay for their heinous crimes, while describing the ugly development as unfortunate even as government has been doing all it could to maintain peace in the state.
