S’Eagles Coach, Finidi Rejects Amokachi, Amuneke As Assistants

The newly appointed Super Eagles of Nigeria coach, Finidi George has reportedly rejected the choice of Daniel Amokachi and Emmanuel Amuneke as his assistants.

New Telegraph reports that Finidi’s appointment was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, April 29.

Recall that the NFF has previously announced that the new Super Eagles coach will be given the free hand to pick his assistants.

There is however still the need to appoint his assistants and other members of the backroom staff.

Amokachi and Amuneke are among the two names reportedly penciled down as assistant coaches to the new gaffer.

The duo also applied for the Super Eagles head coach job.

Finidi is however not willing to work with either of the two.

The 53-year-old wants to pick his own assistants rather than work with the two.
