Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong has expressed his team’s determination to claim maximum points against Rwanda in their forthcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match.
New Telegraph reports that the Nigerian team arrived in Kigali on Sunday and is set to face the Amavubi at the Amahoro Stadium on Tuesday.
Troost-Ekong acknowledged that the game may be challenging, but he is confident in the team’s ability to emerge victorious.
He emphasized the importance of starting strong and maintaining their effort throughout the match.

“We are here for a purpose, and our target is the three points,” Troost-Ekong told (link unavailable) “We have spoken among ourselves about the need to go hard for it from the first blast of the referee’s whistle.
It’s going to be a tough game because Rwanda has a good team and got a point from their first match. We must not relent throughout the 90 minutes.”
The Super Eagles are coming off a 3-0 win against Benin Republic in their previous qualifying match, while Rwanda drew 1-1 with Libya.
Troost-Ekong’s confidence and determination will undoubtedly inspire his teammates as they seek to secure another victory.
