Traders at the Ladipo Auto Spare Parts market in Lagos were met with a grim discovery when the lifeless body of a scavenger was found hanging from a tree near Toyota Bus Stop on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway.
The tragic incident was noticed by workers who arrived very early at the market.
The individual, believed to be in his 30s, was found with no signs of violence on his body, leading to suspicions that he may have taken his own life.

However, the police are yet to release any official statement regarding the circumstances surrounding his death as of the time of filing this report.
A wheelbarrow pusher identified as Stephen, who witnessed the scene, recounted the incident, stating, “We noticed the body hanging from the tree around 7 a.m., as we were starting our day’s work.
“No one could tell when exactly he committed the act. His bags, filled with empty plastic bottles, were on the ground, and a slipper was still on one of his legs.”
The presence of the corpse attracted a crowd of onlookers who took pictures and videos, with some expressing the hope that sharing the images online might help identify the deceased.
The man, described as having tribal marks on both cheeks, was eventually removed by security operatives around 4:30 p.m.
