The Kano State Government has distanced itself from hundreds of protesters carrying Russian flags around the State, insisting that they are not a known group to the Government.

The spokesman of the Governor, Mr Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, clarified that the protesters carrying Russian flags were not affiliated with the government or any of its agents.

He explained that the genuine protesters had submitted their grievances, which would be forwarded to President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.

He said that the State Government has announced the establishment of a committee of inquiry to investigate the senseless killings and looting of public buildings that occurred during the protests.

The committee’s main objective was to determine the root causes of the violence that led to the killings and destruction and identify those responsible for the acts.
