RMRDC DG Charges Mgt Staff On Global Prominence Of Council

The Director-General of the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Prof. Nnanyelugo Ike-Muonso has charged the management staff of the Council to consider the global prominence of the council a priority.

The DG gave the charge at a two-day strategic goal-setting session with senior management staff in Abuja.

Ike-Muonso emphasised RMRDC’s pivotal role in the nation’s economic aspirations, just as he said it aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda for sustainable industrial development and economic growth in Nigeria.

He stressed the imperative for the Council to assert itself as a key contributor to Nigeria’s economic advancement and establish a strong presence in the global raw materials marketplace.

Addressing participants from the directorate cadre and division heads, Ike-Muonso underscored the significance of the strategic goal-setting session as the initial step towards realising his vision for RMRDC’s global competitiveness in raw materials development.

He highlighted the Council’s wealth of resources, including skilled manpower and a robust legal framework, as essential assets in achieving its objectives.

He urged the participants to adopt a proactive approach to their work. He emphasised that business as usual was no longer tenable in the pursuit of RMRDC’s transformative goals.

The two-day session featured engagement with experts from academia and industry, aimed at crafting a pragmatic and measurable roadmap for RMRDC’s advancement.

Through collaborative efforts, the council seeks to propel itself towards the optimal achievement of its visions, poised to make significant contributions to Nigeria’s industrial and economic landscape on the global stage.
