RCCG Pastor Implores Nigerians To Seek God’s Favour

Pastor-in-charge of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) National Headquarters, Throne of Grace (TOG) Ebute-Metta, Adebayo Adeyemo has urged Nigerians to seek God’s favour, embrace righteousness, acquire skills while exploring their gifts positively for the nation to overcome its present challenges. He gave the charge while speaking with journalists last Sunday at the May Thanksgiving and Prayer Service with the theme ‘The Shield of Favour’, specially held for traders, businessmen and women, sportsmen and women, students, youths, and young adults with their families. Adeyemo, who said that God Has been Nigeria’s defence as the nation still stands against all odds, noted that some nations would have been no more, should some of the things witnessed in Nigeria were to be happening there.

He, also pointed out that despite not being one of the technologically advanced countries, the COVID-19 pandemic could have been more devastating in Nigeria if not for God’s shield of protection.

“When you know God you have defence, you have everything. Christ is our social security and that is why Nigeria is God’s own country, it is God that is keeping us…Look at the debt this government met, how are they are doing it, it is God not human wisdom. “People need to wake up now, learn skills and rescue themselves. Religion is to teach you morals and to tell you if you do not work hard you will be poor. “Pray for favour for Nigeria, favour will wipe away our debts it was done before, favour will support this government.”

In his sermon, RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, stressed the need for righteous living for God’s shield of favour that guarantees protection and progress. He stated: “When people say ‘why do you talk about holiness all the time’ I have told you holiness is the master key. As long as God is not fighting with you it doesn’t matter how many people are fighting with you, you will win. One with God is always a majority any day, let the enemy gang up against you, let them lie against you, let them make fun of you. As long as God is on your side you will just be getting higher and higher.”
