Ramos Seeks La Liga Return After Leaving PSG

Free agent, Sergio Ramos is hoping to get a move back to La Liga following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer

The 37-year-old left the Parc des Princes after a two-year spell in France in which he added to his illustrious cabinet. He won two Ligue 1 titles during his time with Les Parisiens.

Injuries blighted his first campaign and restricted him to only 12 appearances in Ligue 1.

However, he shook off the niggling injuries and made 33 appearances this season. He contributed two goals and one assist.

Also, the former Real Madrid star helped his side keep seven clean sheets, winning 54% of his duels.

Ramos clearly still has a lot to offer despite PSG moving him on. The first link back to La Liga is his boyhood club, Sevilla.

The former Spain international spent his formative years in Sevilla’s academy.

Ramos was born in Camas, Sevilla, and came through the ranks before making his senior team debut in 2003.

He played for the senior team for two years before moving to Real Madrid, where he would establish his legacy as one of the greatest defenders ever, winning 22 titles, including five Champions League and four La Liga titles.

However, the Andalusians already have four central defenders on their books. They have Marcao, Loic Bade, Tanguy Nianzou, and Karim Rekik.

After Bade’s successful loan spell, they will likely make his loan move permanent this summer. Sporting director Monchi said he would do it after their Europa League win.

Nevertheless, the reports state that Ramos hopes that Sevilla moves to sign him. He has spoken to former teammate and close friend Jesus Navas.

Ramos is ready to reject big money offers and prioritise a return to Sevilla. He will likely have offers from the Saudi League and other places outside Europe but has his heart on his home nation.
